
Timber Vehicle Mounted Loaders (Hiab)
(Novice and Experienced Operator)
Objective
To train the basic skill requirements, correctional instruction and associated job safety knowledge of basic Vehicle Mounted Loader operation in the timber industry to either experienced operators (with 6 months or more full working experience) or Novice operators (no previous experience). This is to the nationally recognised levels of skill, ability & safety as laid down in the Approved Code of Practice relating to section 2 of the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974, The Provision and Use of Work Equipment regulations 1998 and The Association of Industrial Lorry Loader Manufacturers and Importers (A.L.L.M.I)
Duration
2 to 3 Days (Novice Operator) 1 Day (Experienced Operator) Dependant On Candidate Numbers and Background
Candidates can have varied experience, and practical background skills. Over a period of time ETS have devised recognised and accredited timetables and correctional instruction techniques to cater for these different situations, whilst maintaining the training requirements as laid down by the accrediting bodies, and HSE.

The above course is applicable to all common makes of Lorry Mounted Loader
This course culminates with both practical and theoretical examinations and candidates must pass these in order to gain certification
On site training will include specific job training as per recognised codes of practice
